Born in the United Kingdom, Karen graduated from the Coventry and Warwickshire School of Nursing in 1995 before building extensive experience across a variety of healthcare settings. Her nursing career has included surgical nursing, palliative care, aged care, neurology and community home care, providing a broad range of clinical experience and insight into the diverse healthcare needs of patients. In 2005, Karen migrated to Australia with her husband and two young children and joined the Paradise and Oakden Medical Centre teams in 2007. Since then, she has become a valued member of the practice, supporting patients with wound care, chronic disease management, aged care and health education. Karen enjoys building meaningful relationships with patients and believes one of the most important parts of healthcare is being available as both a listening ear and a helping hand. She particularly enjoys supporting older patients with long-term health needs while also sharing in the excitement of meeting new babies and supporting young families. Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, reading, shopping, relaxing at the beach and actively participating in her local church community. She also appreciates a good cup of tea and occasionally a glass of red wine with brie.
