Dr Michaela Baulderstone is an experienced General Practitioner with a strong focus on children’s health, development, emotional wellbeing and parenting support. She is passionate about helping families navigate the many challenges that can arise throughout childhood and believes that supporting parents is an important part of supporting children. Dr Michaela provides thoughtful, evidence-based care for children and families, with particular interests in developmental assessment, child behaviour, mental health, sleep and toileting concerns, chronic disease management and health education. Her approach is warm, practical and family-centred, with an emphasis on helping parents better understand their child’s needs and feel confident in the strategies and support available to them.

About Dr Michaela Baulderstone

Dr Michaela Baulderstone graduated from Flinders University Medical School in 1996 and completed her internship at Flinders Medical Centre. She then worked in Paediatrics at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in North Adelaide and was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Child Health in 1998. Dr Michaela later specialised in family medicine and obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2004. She has continued to build on her expertise in child and family healthcare through further training, including Griffiths Child Developmental Assessments in 2010 and Medical Psychology with a focus on Interpersonal Therapy in 2011. She has worked at Oakden Medical Centre since 2013 and is particularly passionate about helping parents with what she describes as the “best and hardest” job in the world. Dr Michaela has also completed targeted training in child behaviour, parenting counselling and evidence-based social and emotional development programs, including “What’s the Buzz” and the University of Melbourne’s “Tuning in to Kids” Parenting Program. She provides dedicated child health and wellbeing services through Oakden Kids Clinic and the Potties & Pillows Sleep and Toileting Clinic, supporting children and families with developmental, behavioural, emotional, sleep and toileting concerns.
