About Dr Jane Mittelstadt
Dr Jane Mittelstadt graduated from the University of Sydney and worked across a variety of general practices and medical education roles before moving to Adelaide. Having always enjoyed journeying alongside children, young people and their families, her experience working in a high-pressure children’s hospital emergency department further reinforced her belief that clear, empathetic communication is essential to delivering high-quality healthcare. Jane also completed her Diploma in Child Health during this time. Alongside paediatric healthcare, Dr Jane has particular interests in mental health and wellness in young people, women’s health, sexual health and holistic, weight-neutral healthcare where this aligns with a patient’s health goals. Her women’s health interests include cervical screening, menstrual concerns, fertility and preconception planning, perimenopause and menopause. She also provides sexual and reproductive healthcare including Implanon insertions and removals and Mirena removals. Dr Jane is accredited to provide GP Obstetric Shared Care and regards supporting women through their preconception, antenatal and postpartum journeys as both a privilege and a joy. Having heard the experiences of many women over the years, she cares deeply about ensuring women and their support people have access to well-rounded, robust information about their bodies, pregnancy, labour, birth and the postpartum period. Outside of medicine, Jane enjoys trying to run — although she admits she may be more likely to be found enjoying a chai latte.
