Dr Kristen Crowhurst is a compassionate General Practitioner with a strong focus on child health, parenting support, mental health and family wellbeing. She is passionate about providing thoughtful, evidence-based care that helps children and families feel supported, understood and confident in their healthcare journey. Dr Kristen has undertaken additional training in paediatrics, lactation, Neuroprotective Developmental Care and mental health, allowing her to provide comprehensive support across a range of childhood and family concerns. Through Oakden Kids Clinic, she works closely with parents and carers to support children’s health, development and wellbeing with an empathetic and family-centred approach.

About Dr Kristen Crowhurst

Dr Kristen Crowhurst completed her medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2012 before undertaking her internship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. She later completed further training at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where she gained valuable experience in paediatric healthcare and completed a Diploma in Child Health. Dr Kristen became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2017 and has continued to build on her interests in child and family health through additional professional development. She has completed the Australasian Lactation Course and is an accredited Neuroprotective Developmental Care provider, giving her additional experience in supporting families with infant wellbeing, feeding, development and early parenting concerns. She has also undertaken further training in mental health. In addition to her work in General Practice, Dr Kristen contributed to the public health response to COVID-19 in both Victoria and South Australia during 2021 and 2022. Her passion for supporting children also extends beyond clinical practice, having written the children’s book No Matter What, which reflects the empathy and understanding she brings to paediatric healthcare. At Oakden Medical Centre, Dr Kristen provides child health, wellbeing and parenting support through Oakden Kids Clinic.
