Dr Sai Phatak is a GP Registrar who is passionate about providing holistic, evidence-based and non-judgemental healthcare that empowers patients to take an active role in their health and wellbeing. After training across rural and regional Victoria and working in a busy Melbourne hospital, Dr Sai developed a strong appreciation for the value of high-quality primary healthcare and returned home to Adelaide to specialise in General Practice. She enjoys the variety of general practice and has particular interests in skin cancer medicine, paediatric and adolescent health, women’s health, sexual health, chronic disease management, Aboriginal health and preventative lifestyle medicine. Her approach is supportive, practical and patient-centred, with a strong focus on helping people feel informed, respected and confident in their care.
Dr Sai Phatak
Dr Sai Phatak graduated from Deakin University Medical School in 2018 and completed further training across rural and regional Victoria before working in a busy Melbourne hospital. Caring for seriously unwell patients strengthened her understanding of the important role high-quality primary healthcare can play in prevention, early intervention and long-term wellbeing. This experience inspired her to return home to Adelaide and specialise in General Practice. Dr Sai is committed to providing holistic, evidence-based and non-judgemental care and enjoys supporting patients across a broad range of healthcare needs. She has undertaken additional training in skin cancer medicine, including practical dermoscopy and dermatological surgery, and provides skin checks, assessment, management and ongoing monitoring where appropriate. Dr Sai also has a strong interest in paediatric and adolescent healthcare and has completed the Sydney Children’s Health Certificate as well as training in infant sleep. Her women’s and sexual health interests include menstrual concerns, menopause, contraception, preventative healthcare, antenatal care and medical termination of pregnancy. She is trained in Implanon insertion and removal, Mirena removal and is an accredited obstetric shared care provider. Fluent in English, Hindi and Marathi, Dr Sai is able to support patients from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Outside of medicine, she is enjoying life as a new mum and the many adventures that come with raising a young child.
