Dr Anna Bakshi is an experienced General Practitioner with an international background in family medicine and a strong commitment to providing comprehensive, patient-centred healthcare. She enjoys caring for patients from all walks of life and values the variety, complexity and long-term relationships that come with general practice. Dr Anna has particular interests in chronic disease management, women’s health, paediatric care and health education, and she works closely with patients to support practical, sustainable improvements in their health and wellbeing. Known for her warm and approachable manner, she believes that good communication, trust and even a sense of humour can play an important role in helping patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their healthcare journey.
About Dr Anna Bakshi
Dr Anna Bakshi graduated from Poznan Medical School in Poland in 1994 before completing postgraduate medical training in Auckland, New Zealand. She was awarded Fellowship in General Practice in 2000 and went on to practise family medicine in both New Zealand and Canada before settling in Australia in 2007. Dr Anna joined the Oakden Medical Centre team in 2013 and has continued to provide comprehensive healthcare for individuals and families across a wide range of medical needs. Throughout her career, she has undertaken further training in areas including Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Emergency Medicine, complementing her broad experience in family practice. Dr Anna particularly enjoys the diversity of general practice and caring for patients with different backgrounds, health concerns and stages of life. She has a strong interest in chronic disease management and believes in working collaboratively with patients to support better long-term health outcomes through education, ongoing care and practical management strategies. Outside of medicine, Anna enjoys spending time with her family, hiking throughout South Australia and following tennis and cricket, while still keeping a soft spot for some New Zealand sporting teams.
