Dr Oliver Frank is an experienced General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, thoughtful and patient-centred healthcare for individuals and families of all ages. He places a strong emphasis on prevention, continuity of care and giving patients the time and space to discuss their health concerns openly. Dr Oliver has particular interests in women’s health, men’s health, mental health, chronic disease management, preventative healthcare and health education. He also provides contraceptive advice and is experienced in the insertion and removal of Mirena IUDs and Implanon contraceptive implants. About Dr Oliver Frank
Dr Oliver Frank was born in South Australia and completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide in 1976. He obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1984 and later completed a PhD through the University of Adelaide in 2006. Alongside his clinical work at Oakden Medical Centre, Oliver also holds an academic and research role with the University of Adelaide, where his work has focused on areas including prevention, quality of care, health services and health informatics. He has also contributed to state and national professional and government committees working to improve healthcare systems and patient outcomes. In general practice, Dr Oliver believes strongly in the importance of continuity of care and encourages patients to build an ongoing relationship with a regular GP who understands their health history, priorities and preferences. He is comfortable discussing complex, sensitive or sometimes difficult health concerns and aims to create a consultation environment where patients feel respected and able to ask questions openly. His areas of interest include preventative healthcare, women’s health, men’s health, mental health, chronic disease management, reproductive health and patient education.
